It will start with the official Opening in Hamburg on September 12th.
participants will share and highlight specific issues within ten regional Exposure Groups.
Each one of these groups will comprise of six participants from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany and six delegates from Partner Churches.
All groups spread out throughout the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany will provide space and opportunity for dialogue and sharing of information, for meetings with parishes and civil society organisations, for sharing and reflection within the group.
The different programmes highlight for example issues of climate justice (in most of the regions), issues of migrants and refugees (in most of the regions), a just sharing of resources (Mecklenburg), issues of an inclusive society (Pomerania, Plön-Segeberg-Ostholstein and others), social issues (Pomerania and others), issues of intercultural interaction (Hamburg-Ost, Hamburg-West/Südholstein, Lübeck-Lauenburg), issues of urban-rural devide (Rantzau-Münsterdorf, Dithmarschen), etc. Working on the details is still going on.
all the participants will assemble in Breklum for the conference part of the Partner Church Consultation. Two main themes will help to focus all the respective concerns, experiences and findings, analysis, suggestions and hopes towards a shared vision:
Theme 1: “Let justice flow like a river and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” (Amos 5,24) – Justice in a Theological Perspective
Theme 2: “… he has anointed me to tell the good news to the poor” (Luke 4,18) – The Contribution of the Church Towards a Just Distribution of Resources
10:00 a.m. - festive Worship Service at St. Michaels in Hamburg followed by an ecumenical gathering will mark the end of the Partner Church Consultation 2015.
It is a cantata service at St. Michaelis , so with great Choir , Bach cantata ( Praise the Lord and the Lord's Supper ) - so great cinema . 12 Participants of the partner church consultation are involved in the service . We sing in different languages and respond to the Gospel of the rich man and Lazarus , the sermons of Bishop Ulrich and Bishop Zachariah Kahuthu from Nairobi . Kahuthu will preach in English .
